Summary of thoughts

Its been a great learning journey for me. Through this mean, we can share ideas with each other through different form, pictures, words or pattern. It really spices up our life. Toward the end, I am a bit rush but i really appreciate this great learning experience. Hopefully, I will learn and utilise them more later on.

Technorati and thoughts of Learning 2.0

I have join technorati http://technorati.com/people/technorati/mozart3777. With influx of information nowadays, we really need to filter through what is important for us. Technorati does not particular attract to me. It seems like a gossip forum. As to Learning 2.0, it is really a good way to share our ideas and learn from others. I shall share my baby's news soon.

web 2.0 award lists

I have looked into the web 2.0 award lists. It saves me a lot of time to search what is valuable website online. I am sure I will utlise it more in the future.. I suppose what we are doing here is to find the suitable search engine for us. They are like mean to an end. We use them as tools to communicate to discover instead of used by tools and what we can see are the integrated products of phone, mp3, video, tv, game, camera or even computer and we try to connect to each other and to the web. I just learned from the news that one of the richest man in the planet Warren Buffett doesnt know anything about computer.

Emusic

I am surprised to find the sheet music website available http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/categories/4 unfortunately due to the copyright, we can not view the sheet music like Ebook. Perhaps in the near future, we will be able to overcome the technical problem. Last but not the least, the discovery of comprehensive Chinese Classical literature printed in the original language in the same website. http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/languages/zh

Ebook

I have looked at the Ebook websites, they are very interesting. I believe it is going to be the future trend. It is just so convinient and many of them are free, however, I've found that reading Ebook in computer seem to be more time consuming and it can also make my eyes very tired. Perhaps I need to update my computer to LCD screen.

熱情與孤獨──父親的創作和生活


也許從小即沉浸在藝術的天地吧﹐藝術對我來說就好像一種本能的活動﹐像呼吸般地順乎自然。我似乎從未察覺到藝術的潛移默化力量﹐直到異鄉求學的情況下﹐逐漸意識到家居生活空間給我的影響﹐才慢慢地觸動我去反思。這是一個由音樂和美術貫穿而成的世界﹐而建構這世界的靈魂人物就是我想要談的父親。

在別人眼中﹐父親或許是個有名氣的畫家﹐但在我眼中卻是既平實又特別的人。他會為吃不著愛吃的甜食或是份量不夠﹐和母親爭論﹔他的老花眼鏡總是愛跟他玩捉迷藏﹐讓他氣急敗壞﹔誤把洗面乳當作牙膏的糊塗事也是有的。然而﹐一旦他全神投注於創作時﹐就如顯微鏡的焦距凝聚於一點一樣﹐完全變了一個人似的。父親追求絕對的專注力﹐只要有一點他認為的瑕疵﹐都會令他坐立難安。從他為了音響效果﹐費心去購買或自製各式各樣的腳墊﹐嘗試各種不同的角度和位置的擺設﹐可以看出他對品質的要求和耐心。即使學音樂的妹妹和我已難以分辨音色的差異﹐他仍不滿足地作各種實驗和調整。其實﹐說他是個完美主義者﹐並不為過。

孤獨對他來說是很重要的﹐但他也不全然是隱士。他常和朋友談繪畫、政治和音樂。他很愛聽笑話﹐也很容易發笑。他對隨波逐流的庸俗文化感到反感﹐他試圖透過創作來證明台灣文化也是可以優雅、豐美的。此地人民對於確立台灣全體性、尋求國家定位的自覺心不足的情況﹐每每叫他蹙眉憂嘆。尼采所描述的「獅子」或夏目漱石的「反抗」精神﹐就是父親的寫照。而他把這種對現實不滿的敏銳感受轉化為創作的原動力﹐生活被提昇為藝術﹐藝術因此落實於生活中。

愛因斯坦以「簡單」、「和諧」的宇宙觀為基礎﹐將「能量」、「物質」、「時間」、「空間」連結起來﹐並具體地以ｅ＝ｍｃ2表示任一物質的「能」所釋放出來的爆炸力。父親則同樣地以「簡單」、「和諧」的原則﹐融滙熱情（能量）、音樂（時間的藝術）、顏料或木頭（物質）以及生活環境（空間）的結果﹐迸放了一種我難以形容的生命力。他親手設計、雕造的原木傢俱呼應著這個特性。我看見了線條的簡實﹐結構、色澤與紋路所構成的節奏﹐讓我體會到巴哈的音樂呈現的精鍊與高貴。他善於利用現成品的特殊造型和質地﹐巧妙地將之變化、融入自己的創作﹐造就一種秩序與自由的調和及律動。父親喜歡窩在家裡﹐家是他築夢的地方﹐是他一步步實現夢想的實驗室。
又見父親那若有所思的熟悉模樣﹐不曉得是哪樁社會事件讓他憂心不安﹐還是創作前的構思﹐是哪件原住民作品撥動他的心弦﹐或是對兒女海外求學的思念之情﹐亦或只不過是隨著音樂而發的無意識冥想呢？我倒相信那正是另一番偉大的創作的開端。

modern technology

Modern technology certainly makes our life much more convenient. I have mp3, laptop and mobile phone. They are compact with great capacity providing us as a very effective way of communication and entertainment. I cannot imagine living without them and cannot succumb the temptation of those new modern gadgets available in the shop, but I have to get it very carefully when my wife is not watching.
